Nancy L. Hinkley Memorial
Life Needs Scholarship
The Nancy L. Hinkley Memorial Life Needs Scholarship was established in 2017 by Nancy's four sons to honor the memory of their mother. Nancy always made the needs of her children and grandchildren her top priority. While raising her children and caring for her family, she sacrificed her own college and career aspirations because of time and financial constraints. She shared her love of reading and teaching by working as a library aide in the Port Huron School District for 27 years before retiring in 2004.
The Nancy L. Hinkley Life Needs Scholarship is available to 2GEN G.R.A.D.S. SCHOLARSHIP recipients and 2GEN GED students to assist with "life needs" that are barriers to student success. Our hope is that this life needs scholarship will encourage mothers to pursue their own goals and dreams, role-modeling a life-long love of learning to their families.
