Literacy and Beyond is looking for an energetic, compassionate assistant childcare teacher to work with infants in our “baby-room “at our 2GEN Learning Center. Parents of children are on-site in the adult education wing for the full duration that children are in childcare. You will be inspired by the growth and development of these little ones as you work with them throughout the year!
Responsibilities for Assistant Childcare Teachers include but are not limited to:
Create a warm and nurturing environment Carry out developmentally appropriate educational lessons Be a great team player and be self-motivated Help maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is organized and clean Ensure safety and facilitate structured play Foster self-help skills as children master feeding and potty training Maintain good communication with parents and fellow staff members Job Requirements:
In order to join our team as a childcare teacher, you must:
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be at least 18 years of age Have a high school diploma or GED Be willing to continue on-going training Have experience with children of this age level; experience as a child care provider preferred Become CPR and First Aid certified (training provided) Job Details:
This position is for approximately 22 hours a week, Tuesday through Friday 9:30 AM-3:30 PM. This position is available immediately and for the 2025-26 program year. (summers and school holidays off).
